Larry Murphy  

 

Larry is an avid bass fisherman and is a regular tournament angler on several Missouri lakes including Smithville Lake, Truman Lake, Pomme de Terre Lake, and the Lake of the Ozarks.  He's also an accomplished musky fisherman and musky guide on Pomme de Terre and the Lake of the Woods in Canada.  Check out www.murphyoutdoors.com for more information about Larry and his guide service.  

Larry has several sponsors including Champion Boats, Lundberg Custom Musky Baits, Young's Wilderness Camp in Ontario Canada, 7/24 Outdoors, and of course RS Custom Rods.  Larry was accepted by Daiwa in February of 2009 to be on their Pro Staff team as well. 

 

Larry is also a former local pro at the Bass Pro Shop in Independence, Missouri.

Larry also enjoys chasing musky, and the pursuit of this toothy critter has taken him to Ontario Canada, Minnesota, and of course Pomme de Terre in his home state of Missouri.  Recently Larry was accepted to be a sponsor for Young's Wilderness Camp in Ontario, Canada.  Larry and his family have been fishing for musky from Young's since 1998 and will help Perry and Carol Annuik promote the Young's camp by attending sports and trade shows in the U.S.

I live in Springfield, Missouri and fish all of the Ozark Lakes but find Stockton Lake to be my favorite.  Some of my earliest memories are of pulling bluegills over the side of an old boat with my father and uncles when I grew up in Minnesota.  I love to bass fish and enjoy the competion. 

I've been a Federation member since 1994 and I am very active in the Missouri TBF Bass Federation.  I cut my tournament teeth on Federation events and made the Federation Championship in 2001 and 2002.  I fish 25-30 local and regional events each year.  I love to fish a jig and operate my own lure company, Eiron Breaker Lure Co.
